François Muller and Professor Louis Thibierge participated in the 5th bi-annual Conference of the International Construction Law Association (ICLA), which was held October 16 and 17 at Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Louis Thibierge made a presentation on the French legal situation with regards to “Employer’s Role & Obligations to the Contractor”, and François Muller spoke on “Third-Party Claims and Indemnities”.

More generally, the conference examined risk management and the limitations of disputes with regard to the different representative jurisdictions in the world.

These actions fall within the firm’s ongoing openness to the issues of comparative law, and highlight that the pervasiveness of standard contract models in large international construction projects does not remove the particularities of applicable law.
